From A Cookbook to A Store
My Husband/Partner, Jim and I have boated most of our lives. We have lived on board for most of the past 15 Summers at our home port The Edward Grace Memorial Harbor in Elk Rapids Michigan.
Having been in the food services business most of my life I found it challenging, yet fun learning how to prepare good food with the limitations of a galley. I often served other marina staff members and my friends, just because I loved cooking and seemed to make too much food.
Persistent encouragement from friends & family, led me to write my 1st cookbook, "Recipes from Sandie's Galley", in 2007. It was designed with simple recipes and it became popular with boaters, so we offered it on a website. We added Galleyware dinnerware, drinkware, and flatware and continued growing and now have over 1100 products.
In August 2010 my second cookbook "Gone Overboard" was published. This recipe book contains new recipes, colored photos, tips, etc. It was written with the same intent of keeping it simple yet truly delicious.
