Ok, so as of late the electric guitar amp market has been infused with micro wonders such as the Vox Nighttrain, and of course the “Terror” series from Orange. Unlike some of these other lunchboxes, the Mini Recto is extremely usable for the stage and especially the studio. No excuses need to be made for this amp because it punches far above its weight. It sounds just like a full sized Rectifier head from Boogie! Not some half-baked, trendy amp, this Recto can confidently stand next to its higher wattage brethren. The clean channel is sparkling and thick, and has plenty of headroom. If you want some vintage, gritty overdrive engage the pushed mode on channel one and rock some Zep or Stones. Channel Two is all Recto. The Vintage mode on the red channel is liquid, tight, thick Rectifier gain, just like the Vintage mode on channels 2 and 3 of the Reborn 3-channel Recto. Engage the Modern mode and you will feel the thump of aggressive low end and the infamous wall of gain that only Mesa can deliver. This amp is truly an advance in amplifier technology. And yes, like all Boogies, this one is hand-built in the U.S.A.
