Perfect long smoke!
Wow I love this pipe! Not only does it look good on display and sticking out of your mouth but it smokes really really well!
First.. great service from Scot.
The pipe is nice to hold as it is a natural cob, nice & bristly on the outside.
I filled it with Mellow Virginia which is not great in a briar for me. In this 'Mac' however it tasted far superior and being all natural the draw was superb too. The tobacco went (after a looong smoke) to the bottom with no relight and no bitterness.
Amazing value for money and my all new fave pipe. |

Feel badass
I love pipes which can hold a lot of tobacco. This one is definitely a beautiful object, but it doesn't stop there. First, it feels great in the hand. You can grab it without problem and I love the feeling of the natural finish on my palm. The smoke is very cool and despite the height of the bowl, I never had any problem finishing it. Of course this is not a daily pipe, but if you want to sit relaxed smoking for... a good 2 hours, do not hesitate !
I have to point out that mine developed a big crack (2mm x 2cm) on the top of the bowl after some time. Not an issue because it doesn't affect smoking and Scott was very kind to me when I told him about the problem, but be warned that it can happen. |

Cool smoke and feel
I really like the feel of this neked or natural pipe. This is how they smoked em back in the day. The natural cob gives itself to being a cool smoke with the long bowl and long stem, unless you puff like crazy on it. It is a long smoke, at least an hour, that's important, don't rush this one. If you don't want a long smoke, buy it for the looks! |

How did MacArthur do it?
It is a good pipe. I will be honest the bowl is too big for me but when I do smoke it it is very cool and relaxing. Also everyone at home loves the aggressive look to the pipe and the natural finish. Plus as an American pipe smoker you just have to have one of these for the great price and the historical value. But I gave it a four because if it goes out closer to the bottom of the pipe it is difficult to relight and you'll need to find a longer tamp. Anyway I would still recommend this pipe to any pipe smoker. |
