The Magnacob(TM) offers the first true innovation in corn cob pipes since the original Aristocob "System" pipe in the 1960's!
We start with one of my favorite corn cob pipes, a Missouri Meerschaum Diplomat, and after making a shallow mortise in the hardwood plug in the bottom of the bowl we use high-heat epoxy to adhere a strong rare-earth magnet! That means any ferrous metal surface is a potential pipe rack! I've personally tested the Magnacob(TM) under the hood of a running car, on a running table saw and as you can see in my Youtube video below, even on a vertical surface! (On second thought, we really don't recommend that... but it was cool!)
As for the Diplomat: its large bowl is not the largest in our inventory, but it’s about the size of a traditional billiard brier, and it’s substantially larger than the Legend. In addition to the rare-earth magnet, the other advantage of the genuine hardwood plug in the bottom of the bowl is that it prevents premature burn-through of the bottom of the bowl!
